PERFORMING A FACTORY RESET ERASES CUSTOMIZED USER
CONFIGURATIONS STORED ON THE DEVICE AND RESTORES THE ORIGINAL
DEFAULT SETTINGS PROGRAMMED BY THE MANUFACTURER. THE PROCESS
CANNOT BE UNDONE. PERFORMING A FACTORY RESET DOES NOT ERASE
IMAGES STORED TO THE INTERNAL STORAGE OF THE DEVICE.
THE UPGRADE PROCESS TAKES ABOUT 15 MINUTES. ENSURE THE DEVICE IS
CHARGED BEFORE UPGRADING. IF THE DEVICE LOSES POWER DURING THE
UPGRADE, THE UPGRADE MAY FAIL AND THE DEVICE MAY BE UNUSABLE.
8-15-12 Factory Reset the Device
Users can perform a factory reset as follows:
1.
Using the touchscreen,
tap the Settings icon to open the settings menu.
2.
Tap System. A submenu opens.
3.
Tap Factory Defaults.
4.
Tap Confirm to perform a factory reset. Tap Cancel to cancel operation.
5.
Tap < continuously to exit the menus.
8-15-13 Device Software Upgrade
The device may periodically need a software upgrade or patch. Ensure the
device is charged before proceeding with the upgrade. If the device loses power
during the process, the upgrade may fail and the device may become unusable.
Update to the latest software version as follows:
1.
Contact customer service to receive the latest software upgrade RAR file.
2.
Set the Device to USB Storage mode and connect the device to a computer
(see Section 8-7-5 Export Media (USB Storage)).
3.
Using the computer, unzip the RAR file.
4.
Copy the Update folder to the root storage of the thermal device and
replace the original Update file.
5.
On the thermal device,
tap the Settings icon to open the settings menu.
6.
Tap System. A submenu opens.
7.
Tap Software Update.
8.
Tap Update from SD Card. The update can take up to 15 minutes. Do not
press buttons. Wait for the install to complete.
9.
When the installation is complete, tap < continuously to exit the menus.
10.
Restart the device.
