After removing the nozzle:
a.
Return the nozzle to the dispenser.
b.
Replace the fuel cap.
c.
Shut the fuel fill door.
Emergencies While Filling With Gasoline
WARNING
To prevent personal injury and / or death, or
property damage, observe the following:
•
Wipe off any fuel that comes in contact with any
painted surface.
•
Gasoline may cause irritation if it comes in
contact with skin.
•
If in contact with clothing, remove soiled
clothing immediately.
•
In the event gasoline comes in contact with
eyes or mouth rinse thoroughly with water
and contact a physician or poison control
(800–222–1222) immediately.
•
Do not inhale any gasoline fumes.
In the event of emergency while filling, perform the following:
1.
Shut OFF the dispenser.
2.
Immediately evacuate the area.
a.
Everyone in the affected area should move to a safe
distance from the spill or leak. Do not re-enter area.
3.
Call for help
a.
After you are at a safe distance from the affected area,
call 911 or the local fire department.
Restarting After Running Out of Fuel
In the event the vehicle runs out of fuel, perform the following:
1.
Refuel vehicle using the specified recommended unleaded
87 octane gasoline.
2.
Cycle the ignition from the OFF position to ON multiple times.
3.
Turn the ignition to the START position for 10 seconds to
start the vehicle. Repeat Steps 2 and 3 as needed.
NOTE: Vehicle may have prolonged cranking.
If the vehicle runs out of fuel during operation, refer to the
Engine Operation and Maintenance Manual
supplied with
your vehicle.
Cold Weather Operation
Be sure to use the appropriate seasonal fuel blend according to
the current season.
