NOTE: The SmartTrac
™
Brake System receives fluid
pressure from the power steering pump to provide power
assist during braking.
Periodically replace the power steering fluid.
Whenever the hydraulic (power steering) system has been
drained and refilled, bleed air from the system before returning
the vehicle to service. Failure to properly bleed the hydraulic
system can result in shimmy complaints and / or steering wheel
oscillation when striking a bump.

proper procedures for filling and bleeding the system.
The power steering fluid filter is located inside the power steering
reservoir. To remove the filter, unscrew the large cap on the
power steering reservoir and unscrew the filter. Reverse the
procedure to install the new filter.

Lubrication and Maintenance Interval Chart
at the back of this section for the fluid and filter replacement
intervals.
