4.2 Cleaning
4.2.1 Cleaning of Image Sensor
This section explains how to clean Image Sensor.
CAUTION:
When the Main Unit is open, hands and objects can be caught by the Main Unit if
the Main Unit closes unexpectedly, Make sure you hold the Main Unit with your
free hand while you work.
CAUTION:
Do not clean the inside of the device with your bare hands. Use a piece of gauze
to protect your hands and fingers when cleaning the inside of the device, where
glass plate and sharp materials exist.
NOTICE:
If the surface of the image sensor gets dirty with ink, adhesives, dust from
papers, or fingerprints, device failure or scanning error may occur.
Clean the image sensor regularly (before operation) and whenever a scan error
occurs.
Perforated sheets produce a lot of dust so more frequent cleaning is required.
1. Operate the Main Latch Button and open the Main Unit.
2. As shown in the figure below, clean the Image Sensor (Front) and the Image Sensor (Back)
with gauze or the like and remove the paper dust and foreign objects on them.
3. If these will not have cleaned for a long, images may have lines vertically.

