Chapter 6. FRU information (service only)

Field Replacement Units (FRUs) should be replaced by qualified service personnel
only.

Note:

Read“Safety information” on page 75 and “Before you begin” on page 36.

Diskette/CD-ROM drives

To remove the diskette/CD-ROM drive:

Power off the server.

Remove the cover. See “Removing the cover” on page 38.

Disconnect the cables for the floppy disk drive and the CD-ROM drive from
the system board.

Remove the fans. See “Replacing the fan assembly” on page 47.

Remove the screws.

Gently pull the CD-ROM/diskette drive subassembly up and back
simultaneously to remove it from the system.
