If you purchase a Myrinet CLOS 256 switch with your Cluster 1350, make sure to
rotate the switch rack 180 degrees so that the rear of the rack unit is facing
forward. This placement makes sure that there is proper air flow for the Myrinet
device. See the Installation Guide that came with your Myrinet CLOS 256
component for more information.

Final cabinet placement determines what will qualify as adequate cable lengths.
This chapter gives guidelines for intercabinet (rack-to-rack) cabling. Use these
guidelines to determine the best cable lengths for your installation.
Remember to install the stability kit and engage the outriggers when the cabinets
are placed in their final location. See “Installing a stability kit” on page 16 for
information about installing the stability kit that comes with each cabinet. See
“Engaging the side stabilizers” on page 16 for information about engaging the side
stabilizers.
