KVM switches
The KVM switch allows the console to connect to all the nodes in the cluster from
one terminal location. Storage and management nodes are connected directly to the
KVM switch. For cluster nodes in the same rack, you can configure multiple nodes
on one KVM switch port.
The Cluster 1350 can use one of the following devices:

InfiniBand host channel adapters
The following InfiniBand host channel adapters are supported:

10/100/1000 Ethernet switches
The 10/100/1000 Ethernet switch provides a 1 Gb Ethernet trunk line between the
management node and the cluster and storage nodes. The 1 Gb uplink ports use
optical cables.
Note: The Force 10 E1200 Terascale DC chassis bundle and the Force 10 5-Slot AC
rectifier chassis is installed by an IBM service representative but the
customer is required to have a licensed electrician available to make the
initial connection and service connections of these devices. Whenever the
device requires on-site IBM service support, the customer is required to
provide an on-site licensed electrician.
The Cluster 1350 uses the following switches as 10/100/1000 Mb Ethernet
switches:
