Section 9.  Checking Out the Option Installation

About This Section

This section provides a detailed procedure to check out option 

installation.  The checkout is an important step toward successful 

system operation.

Before You Start

Unless you are directed otherwise, if the system has operational 

problems, go to the 

IBM RT PC Problem Determination Guide

 and 

to the 

IBM RT PC Hardware Maintenance and Service

, and do a 

problem determination.

1.  Ensure that power switches are off on the system unit and 

all

 

devices and that all power cables have been unplugged from wall 

or other electrical outlets.

2.   Connect the system unit power cable to the power connector on 

the rear of the system unit.  Connect the power cable for each 

device to the power connector on the device.
