Installing Parallel Channel Cables
1 Before you start
Attention
Before installing the channel interface cables press
the cable contacts tightly against the ESD pad as
shown, to remove static charge and prevent
possible channel card damage.
An ESD wristband (part 6428167) must be used
while handling channel cables, wrap blocks, and
terminators in the following procedures.
In order to avoid damaging connector, use flat
blade screwdriver 1650853 (3/16 blade x 8"
handle) when installing the parallel channel cable
to the channel card connector.
2 Locating the cables
Note: The parts shipped are customer order for the devices to be installed.

3 Connecting interface cables
Perform the following steps on one adapter cable
at a time.
1. Connect the Parallel interface cable to the
Parallel Channel Adapter card.
Note: Use Charts “Locating the correct
CHPID on the card.” on page 6-36
to locate the correct CHPID for the
feature you are working with.
