Using
Y
power-cord
connectors
for
power
backup
When
you
have
multiple
servers
with
redundant
power
supplies,
use
Y
power-cords
to
provide
connection
to
the
backup
power-supply
(Back-UPS)
units.
The
Back-UPS
unit
provides
temporary
power
to
the
connected
devices
if
there
is
a
power
outage
in
the
network.
The
Back-UPS
unit
must
be
connected
correctly
to
ensure
optimum
power
backup
to
the
servers.
Connect
the
Y
power
cord
to
two
power
supplies,
in
two
different
servers,
then
connect
the
other
end
of
the
Y
power
cord
to
a
Back-UPS
unit.
The
following
illustration
shows
the
proper
connection
between
the
servers
with
the
Y
power-cord.
