you
to
log
off
from
the

Next

the
Finish

Logoff

Finish

Logout

the
installation
wizard
exits,
a
file
(postinstallation.txt)
is
displayed,
containing
the
postinstallation

postinstallation

failed,

must
exit
the
installation
process
and
check
the
install
log
for
error
messages.

error

due

and
reinstall

GUI
using
either
the
graphical
or
unattended
(silent)
mode
of
install.
v
If
the
error
is
due
to
a
wrong
installation
parameter
value,
restart
the
installation
using
the
steps
that
are
described
in
this
procedure
or
the
steps
that
are
described
in
the
unattended
(silent)
mode
install.
Navigate
to
the
Console
Server
Parameters
window
and
insert
the
correct
values.
Then
finish
the
installation.

Check
the
postinstallation
instructions
after
the
installation
has
completed.
The
postinstallation.txt
file
is
displayed
immediately
after
the
installation
of
the
DS
Storage
Manager
finishes
processing.

postallation.txt
file

not
display,
click

link
on
the
LaunchPad
window
to
access

option

you

run
the
installation
program
unattended.

method
of
installation
to
customize
a
response
file
and
to
issue
a
command
from
a
command
prompt
window.
The
response
file
is
a
template
on
the
IBM
System
Storage
DS
Storage
Manager
CD.
Perform
the
following
steps
to
install
the
IBM
System
Storage
DS
Storage
Manager
in
your
Linux
environment
using
the
unattended
(silent)
mode:
1.
Log
on
as
a
user
with
root
authority.
2.
Create
a
mount
point
or
choose
an
existing
mount
point.
3.
Determine
where
you
want
to
mount
the
DS8000
Storage
Manager
CD.
For
example,
imagine
you
have
decided
to
mount
the
CD
in
a
CD-ROM
drive
known
as
/dev/cdrom
at
mount
point
/mnt/cdrom.
When
the
time
comes
for
you
to
mount
the
CD
in
this
drive,
perform
the
following
steps:
a.
Insert
the
CD
in
the
CD-ROM
drive.
