Even if your setting is Enabled, you may also switch to the text mode while
booting by pressing F9 after you see the message “Press <F1> to go to the
Setup Utility”.
When set to Disabled, BIOS is in the conventional text mode where you see
the system initialization details on the screen
Num Lock This parameter displays whether the NumLock function on the
keyboard turns on automatically each time you turn your computer on. You can
set this to On or Off. The default is On.
First Boot Device This parameter allows you to set system boots from
Floppy, Floptical, SCSI Device, Network, Disabled, 2nd IDE HD, 3rd IDE HD,
and 4th IDE HD. The default is Floppy.
Second Boot Device This parameter allows you to set system boots from
ATAPI CD-ROM, SCSI Device, Disabled, 2nd IDE HD, 3rd IDE HD, 4th IDE
HD, and Floptical. The default is ATAPI CD-ROM.
Third Boot Device This parameter allows you to set system boots from 1st
IDE HD, 2nd IDE HD, 3rd IDE HD, 4th IDE HD, Floptical, SCSI Device, and
Disabled. The default is 1st IDE HD.
Date and Time
From the Setup main menu, select the Date and Time option to view or change
the system clock from the Date and Time menu. If you want to change the
system date, enter the date in the format shown on the screen as in the
following example:
Fri Jul 23, 1999
If you want to change the time, enter the time in 24-hour format (hours,
minutes, seconds). For example:
- 12 midnight is 00:00:00
- 12 noon is 12:00:00
- 1 p.m. is 13:00:00
When setting date and time, press the up- or down- arrow key to highlight a
field. Press the left or right-arrow key to change the settings.
Advanced Options
From the Setup main menu, select the Advanced Options option to view or
change a variety of configuration settings. The Advanced Options menu
appears, with the following options:
