Replacing a system fan in the 9006-12C

Learn how to replace the fans in the IBM Power System LC921 (9006-12C) system.

Procedure

1.

Ensure that you have the electrostatic discharge (ESD) wrist strap on and that the ESD clip is plugged
into a ground jack or connected to an unpainted metal surface. If not, do so now.

2.

With the fan holder lifted, push the fan into the housing as shown in Figure 19 on page 21. Align the
standoffs in the fan with the slots in the fan holder.
