Removing a DIMM
To remove a DIMM, complete the following steps.

1. Read the safety information that begins on page vii and “Installation guidelines”
2. Turn off the server and peripheral devices, and disconnect the power cords and
all external cables necessary to replace the device.
3. Remove the top cover (see “Removing the top cover” on page 41).
4. Remove the microprocessor/memory card (see “Removing a
microprocessor/memory card” on page 51).
5. Place the microprocessor/memory card on a flat surface with the DIMM
connectors facing up.
6. Lift open the microprocessor/memory card air baffle.
