Manual:
FORMFEED (*CUT)
(See note 3)
Note:
The combination of settings with Automatic Eject = Enabled and Automatic Restore
= Disabled is not recommended.
Notes:
1.
The Front Continuous Forms source can also be selected by using FORMFEED
(*AUTOCUT) DRAWER (1) but FORMFEED (*CONT) is the recommended
method.
2.
When the AS/400 is told that the paper is cut-sheet (*AUTOCUT) instead of
continuous forms, the Forms Alignment message normally issued for
continuous forms will not be issued.
3.
The manual feed source can only be selected if you are running on an IPDS
printer.
4.
In OS/400 Version 3 Release 2 and Version 3 Release 7, the FORMFEED
parameter has been enhanced to support explicit selection of the rear
continuous form input source as follows:
Rear CF:
FORMFEED (*CONT2)
In this case, the AS/400 is aware that the Rear Continuous Forms is in fact a
continuous form feed. Therefore a drawer parameter is not required and the
Forms Alignment message can be issued.
5.
When you are switching from one continuous forms path to the other, printed
output must be manually torn off and removed from the printer before the first
forms path can be parked. For this reason, you may want to use the FORM
keyword in the AS/400 Printer File to alert the operator to remove any printer
output before a job using a different forms path is sent.
If the 4247 is configured for ASF use only in Compatibility Mode as described in
“Automatic Sheet Feeding Only (Compatibility Mode)” on page 363, bin selection
is made with the parameters below:
ASF Bin 1:
FORMFEED (*AUTOCUT) DRAWER (1)
ASF Bin 2:
FORMFEED (*AUTOCUT) DRAWER (2)
ASF Bin 3:
FORMFEED (*AUTOCUT) DRAWER (3)
Note:
The combination of settings with Automatic Eject = Enabled and Automatic Restore
= Disabled is not recommended.
GDDM Usage - S/390
When the 4247 printer is attached to GDDM in the S/390 environment, media
input sources are selected using the IPDSBIN processing option. This option has
the format (IPDSBIN,m,n) where m is the main document bin and n is the header
page bin. The values for 4247 are:
v
0 = printer default
v
1 = front CF
v
2 = rear CF
v
5 = ASF Bin1
v
6 = ASF Bin2
v
7 = ASF Bin3
