8.2. Process in Trouble Occurrence
In case of trouble occurred, take an action following the procedures below for the purpose of prompt
recovery and recurrence prevention.
1) Check of Status Display LED on XSEL and RC Controllers
• Status of XSEL MECHATROLINK LED Lamps
LED Color Status Meaning
ERR
Orange On It shows an error occurred in the communication circuit of
MECHATROLINK mater.
- Off In Normal Condition
LINK Green On
It shows connection is physically established with slave stations.
(For line breakage detection)
RUN Green On
It shows MECHATROLINK communication process I/F is in the
normal operation.
* Refer to the instruction manual s for MECHATROLINK-III of the RC controllers regarding the LED
display of the RC controllers.
2) Alarm Check (if any generated) on XSEL and RC Controllers
(Check alarm in applicable teaching tool for both cases.)
3) Check on Main Power Source and Brake Power Source (for actuators equipped with a brake)
4) Check of Connector Drop-off, Incomplete Connection or Cable Line Breakage and Pinch
Shut off the main power line (for electric shock prevention) of the XSEL and RC controllers
and take off the cables on the measurement part (for prevention of electric conduct due to
sneak circuit) before having a conduction check.
5) Checking Noise Prevention Measures (conne ction of grounding line, connection of noise
killer, etc.)

Cause and Countermeasures for Frequently-Occurred Errors
Phenomenon Cause/Action
Error No. E58 “Servo on/off Timeout
Error” occurs when servo is on
Even though the servo-on command was sent from XSEL, the
servo-on status could not be confirmed on the RC controller.
Cause:
Countermeasure:
1) The RC controller is in the emergency
stop condition, or an error with higher
level than cold start has been occurred
2) The operation mode prohibits launching
PIO.
1) Check the condition of the RC
controller.
2) Check if the operation mode of the RC
controller prohibits launching PIO.
Moreover, check if the MANU mode is
set.
Error No. C65 “Servo on/off Logic Error”
occurs during servo is on
Cause:
Countermeasure :
Servo ON command from the RC
controller is cut while the servo is ON. The
RC controller is in emergency stop status.
Check if only the RC controller side is in
emergency stop status.
