4.15 Electrical and electronic system modifications
In many cases, the Body Builders connect the electrical system of the vehicle with
the electrical system of the body, to provide energy to additional consumers. In oth
-
er cases, it is necessary to connect some electronic devices to the electronic system
of the vehicle.
To perform the operations described above properly it is important to follow the in
-
structions in this manual, since the slightest abnormality can cause full or partial
system failure, which can even lead to a total stoppage of the vehicle.
When modifications are made to the chassis of the basic vehicle, such as wheelbase
modification, overhang modification, etc., it is also necessary to modify the instal
-
lation of the electrical lines of the vehicle. When doing this, the instructions in this
manual must always be carefully followed.
WARNING
Electrical systems that are added to the chassis wiring must not have an adverse
effect on the safety of the vehicle. The operation of the electric system of the
vehicle should be checked after the operations have been performed on it.
CAUTION
It is strictly prohibited to make electrical connections to the vehicle wiring, except
through the connection points expressly indicated by HMC for this purpose. It
could cause the malfunctioning of the electrical system of the vehicle.
