ADJUST SIDE ROLLERS
1.
Use a feeler gauge to measure clearance between
the side roller and mast channel (see Figure 19).
If clearance is not between 0.5 to 1.0 mm (0.02 to
0.04 in.), remove the reach assembly.
2.
If necessary, remove the reach assembly from the
mast. See Reach Assembly Removal and Instal-
lation.
3.
Add or remove shims under the side rollers to
reduce the clearance between the rollers to 0.5
to 1.0 mm (0.02 to 0.04 in.) per side.
NOTE:
Make sure the total shim thickness for each
side is the same for each set of side rollers. Equal
shim thickness will keep the clearance equal be-
tween the reach assembly and mast weldment on
both sides.
4.
Install the reach assembly. See Reach Assembly
Removal and Installation or Inner Frame Assem-
bly, Install.
5.
Verify free travel of mechanism in mast. If reach
assembly binds, remove an equal amount of
shims from each side for free travel.
