2 – Routine Maintenance
Every year
Change the oil and oil filter in the air compressor
For best performance use Rotair Plus (or Roto-inject fluid) oils. Mineral oil can be used provided the following
precautions are taken:
 Old oil is drained and the system is flushed. This should be done by a qualified Chicago Pneumatic technician.
Contact your local Chicago Pneumatic service center.
 Both the compressor oil filter and oil separation filter are changed.
 The oil meets the following properties: high quality mineral oil with oxidation inhibitors and anti-foam and anti-wear
properties. The viscosity grade must correspond to the ambient temperature and ISO 3448:

TECHNICIANS.
When servicing air compressor components:
 Discharge internal pressure from the air compressor before performing
maintenance on any compressor parts. Trapped air pressure can discharge
violently and cause serious injury.
 Do not inhale compressed air. Serious injury can result.
 If air that was under pressure pierces your skin, seek medical treatment
immediately.
 Never disable or disconnect any safety mechanisms for the air compressor.
 Check all air compressor hoses and connections for leaks and damage before
operating the system again.
NOTICE
Use oil of the same type as that already in the machine. Do not mix different oils from different
manufacturers and different viscosities (grades).
The unit ships with Chicago Pneumatic Rotair Plus synthetic oil (manufacturer’s part number
1630144405).
