8.4 Checking the functioning of the water sensor

Check that the functioning of the water sensor at each filter el-
ement replacement, for details, see the following.

1x glass or beaker (≈ 0,5 l) filled with water

1x wrench

 = 27 mm

To perform the function test, please proceed as follows:

1.

Dismount the water sensor using a wrench
 = 27 mm.

2.

Place water sensor for ≥ 30 seconds into the glass filled
with water.

ð

The drain valve must open.

3.

Remove water sensor from the glass with water.

ð

The drain valve remains open for the set time. Once
the time expires, the drain valve must close.

4.

Switch off the AWD at the main switch and then switch it
back on again after 20 seconds.

5.

Place water sensor for < 30 seconds into the glass filled
with water.

ð

The signal lamp Fault (error) on the switch box lights
up.

6.

If all intermediate results are o.k. => function test passed

-> screw in the water sensor with the wrench

 = 27

mm and tighten it with a tightening torque of ≤ 25 Nm.

7.

If intermediate results are not o.k. => function test faulty
-> check all settings and cabling again. If necessary,
contact HYDAC Service.

O

The function test of the water sensor is complete.

Install the water sensor after it has passed the function test.
Replace faulty water sensors immediately.
