5.6 

The Operation Cycle 

1.  

Check that the head is secure. 

 

Warning!

  Failure to lock the head handles can result in 

damage of the machine and personal injury. 

 

2.   

Secure the work piece to the table. 

3. 

Adjust the table to the desired height. Use the front 

or side crankshaft. 

4. 

Use table lock crankshaft to lock the table.  Attach 

and rotate the riser handle clockwise. 

5. 

Set the transmission mode.  Use the Hi/Low gear 

lever (J, Fig. 1).  

6.   

Select drilling mode (H, Fig.1).  

7. 

Set to manual mode.  Check that the down-feed 

levers (Fig. 9) are pushed in. 

8.   

Set the drilling depth stop.  For manual drilling or 

tapping, set the front depth scale (M, Fig. 7).  For 

automatic drilling , set the down-feed side rings 

scale (U, Fig.7).  Refer to

Start the machine.  Push the start button (A, Fig. 1). 

10.  

Select the spindle speed (F, Fig.1). 

 

 

 

5.6.1  In Drilling Mode

Lock in manual mode or select automatic 

mode and feed rate.  Turn handle (N, Fig. 9) 

or Refer to 

Automatic Down-feed (5.4).

Begin drilling. 

 

 

 

5.6.2  In Tapping Mode 

In general, speeds for tapping require low 

transmission mode with speeds lower than 150RPM. 

 

*Tapping must be done in manual mode.

Set the down-feed rate to “0”

down-feed handle (L, Fig. 8).  Refer to 

Manual Down-feed (5.3)

Select the tapping mode (H, Fig.1).

Lock the down-feed levers

must be lock to avoid accidental change to 

auto down-feed mode while using the levers.

Release the unused depth stop.  Loosen 

handle (U, Fig. 7).

 

15. 

Start the machine.  Push the start button (A, 

Fig. 1).  

16. 

Begin tapping. Use the down-feed levers to 

enter the tapping bit in to the work-piece.  

Then release hold of levers. The bit will 

automatically reverse upon reaching the 

depth stop.
