GENERAL ENGINE PROCEDURES

SWING ARM COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

Removal:

-  Disassemble the oil sump as described in the relevant paragraph.

-  Remove the screws (1) and the gasket (2).

-  Remove the screws (3).

-  Remove the cover (4).

-  Remove the gasket (5).

Installation:

-  Clean the threading and the sealing surfaces.

  The pin of the compensation connecting rod axis could detach.

 

During installation, make sure that the pin of the compensation 

connecting rod axis is correctly fixed in its seat.

-  Check the correct positioning of the pin (6).

-  Fit the gasket (5) and the cover (4) on the crankcase.

-  Manually tighten the screws (3) (Loctite 243).

-  Fit the gasket (2) and manually tighten the screws (1) (Loctite 243).
