If you use the vehicle in winter, you must expect salt on the roads. You should therefore take precautions against aggressive
road salt.
If the vehicle was operated in road salt, clean it with cold water after riding. Warm water would enhance the corrosive effects
of salt.

brake linings, in the cooled down and installed state, with cold water and
dry carefully.
After riding on salted roads, thoroughly wash the vehicle with cold water
and dry it well.

Treat the engine, swingarm, and all other bright and zinc-plated parts (except for
the brake discs) with a wax-based corrosion inhibitor.

discs as this would greatly reduce the braking force.
