Speed
You can measure any running distance, depending on where the Timing Gates are placed.
If you are running on a SmarTracks Location with integrated timing gates, you can start at any gate.
If you are using Timing Gates Mobile, we recommend starting at the 100m finish line or any other fixed
point on your track. From there, place the mobile gates at the desired intervals.
Before and after each run the athlete should stand still for at least 1 second.
Test results
The test results are shown under the “
Runs
” tab.
8.1.1.
Selecting the sprint interval
If you did not select a sprint interval for the measurement, the software will assign appropriate inter-
vals automatically when analyzing the data. If desired, the intervals can always be changed manually.
▪
If you are using Timing Gates In-Ground, the gate pattern depends on your SmarTracks location.
If you are unsure about the gate pattern of your location, you can check it in the free Smar-
Tracks Athlete app under “Track Details”
▪
If you are using Timing Gates Mobile, please strictly adhere to the given intervals.
For example, if you set the interval to 20m (every 5m), then you have to place Timing Gates at
0m, 5m, 10m, 15m, and 20m.
