If the indicator is steady red or off, the newly installed optical module is faulty, the port
for the optical module is faulty, or the optical module is incorrectly installed.

Confirm the replacement.

Perform a post-replacement inspection.
After the parts replacement, return to the SmartKit page and click 

Replaced

complete the check after the replacement as prompted.

Check system status.
On the

any inspection item fails, rectify the fault based on the suggestions in the inspection
report.

5.13 Replacing the Parts of a Data Switch

This section describes how to replace the parts of a data switch.

5.13.1 Replacing a Power Module

This section describes how to replace a power module.

Impact on the System

In the process of replacing a power module on a data switch, if the redundant power supply on
the data switch fails unexpectedly, the data switch will be powered off. As a result, the I/O
forwarding workload transfers to another switch, degrading the system reliability.

Prerequisites

l

The spare part is ready.

l

The power module that you want to replace has been located.

Precautions

l

Remove and insert a power module with even force. Excessive force may damage the
appearance or connectors of the power module.

l

Remove only one power module at a time.

l

After removing a power module, install a new one within two minutes. Otherwise, the
system heat dissipation is compromised.
