4.3.5 Setting the GE Service Port
This section introduces the procedure for setting the GE service port.
Prerequisite
CAUTION
l
The IP addresses of the GE service port and the management network port must be configured
on different network segments.
l
All the GE service ports of one controller must be configured on different network segments.
l
192.168.1.0, 192.168.2.0, and 192.168.3.0 are three reserved network segments of the
VIS6000. When setting the IP address for the GE service port, you should avoid setting an
IP address within the three network segments. If you need to set an IP address within the
three network segments, avoid the following IP addresses: 192.168.1.10, 192.168.1.11,
192.168.2.10, 192.168.2.11, 192.168.3.10, and 192.168.3.11.
l
Modifying the IP address of the GE service port will interrupt services of the GE interface.
Ensure that services of the GE service port stop before modifying the IP address of the
interface.
l
If the GE service port is bound, you cannot modify the IP address of the interface.
