6.1.2 Configuring a Space-Optimized Instant Snapshot
This section introduces the procedure for configuring a space-optimized instant snapshot.
Prerequisite
Before configuring a space-optimized instant snapshot, you need to complete the following
operations.
l
Creating a disk group.
l
Creating a volume in the disk group as the source volume.
NOTE
After the source volume is created, the free capacity of the disk group must be adequate for cache. You are
recommended to set the cache size to 20% of the capacity of the source volume.
CAUTION
After creating a space-optimized instant snapshot, pay attention to the variation of the free
capacity of the disk group in which the optimized-space instant snapshot is. Add disks to the
disk group according to the free capacity of the disk group and the variation of the snapshot data.
