8.12 How can I use the GPS with an offline map?

Open the map GPS software and download the offline map package. It is recommended that
you connect to a Wi-Fi network and download the package. Then, you can use the GPS offline.
While using the GPS offline, you need to enable the GPS and do not necessarily connect your
phone to a network. Make sure that use the GPS function offline in an area where the GPS
satellite signal strength is good, for example, the outdoors.

It is recommended that you download offline GPS software from Huawei App Center, for
example, the Baidu Map and Amap.

8.13 What are LBS?

The LBS stands for Location Based Services that are value-added services provided by
combining the mobile communications network and satellite positioning system. The location
information (altitude and longitude coordinate data) of a mobile terminal is acquired using the
positioning technology. Therefore, mobile users or others are provided with location based
services, such as weather, GPS, and shopping.

8.14 How do I enable the LBS?

Go to

Settings

>

Location access

and enable

Network location

. Enable GPS.

8.15 Does the LBS use the data traffic?

Generally speaking, after you enable the LBS, your phone will load map data using the data
traffic when running the location based app. It is recommended that you download an offline
map and regularly update it using a Wi-Fi network before using the map software. Therefore,
the LBS may minimize the data traffic usage.

8.16 What can I do when the LBS is unavailable?

1.

Make sure that the mobile network is enabled and check whether the Wi-Fi network is
available.

2.

Go to

Settings

>

Location access

and check whether the Wi-Fi is enabled. Enable the

Wi-Fi network connection function.

3.

If the problem persists, restart your phone and try again.

8.17 What can I do when the LBS fails?

Location access

, check and enable LBS-related options.

Make sure that the mobile or Wi-Fi network connection is normal, because data from the
server can't be acquired when the network is unavailable.
