Grounding l The ground cable is not aged or corroded, and its
sheath is not damaged.
l The ground resistance must meet the following
requirements: The resistance between the ground
cable of the device and the ground bar or ground
body is less than 0.1 ohm; the resistance between
the ground bar or ground body and the earth is
less than 10 ohms.
Air vents of the EDFA
and the cabinet Air vents of the EDFA and the cabinet are not
blocked. Air intake and exhaust are normal.
Appearance l
No deformation, paint peeling, or corrosion is
found on the device.
l No obvious dust is found on the surface of the
device.

The device indicators are normal. If any device
indicator indicates an abnormality, see sections

Common Alarm Handling and 3 Common
Troubleshooting .
Alarm handling l Critical alarms with higher handling priorities are
identified based on the principles of critical alarms
followed by minor alarms.
l All alarms must be cleared. If any alarm cannot be
cleared, find out the reason.
Port and fiber l Adapter ports and fiber connectors cannot be
exposed and must be installed with dust-proof
caps. Before using the ports or connectors, check
the end faces with the fiber end-face inspector to
ensure that they are clean.
l Fibers cannot be coiled too tightly. The bending
radius for G.652D fiber patch cords cannot be no
less than 30 mm, and that for G.657A1 and G.
657A2 fiber patch cords is no less than 15 mm.
NOTE
It is recommended that the device be checked quarterly.
