Values of timers used in MAC address authentication are set.

guest-vlan reauthenticate-period

: specifies the interval for re-authenticating users in a

guest VLAN. The default value is 60s.

offline-detect

: specifies the interval at which the AR1200-S checks whether a user goes

offline. The default value is 300s.

quiet-period

: specifies the value of the quiet timer. After a user fails to be authenticated, the

AR1200-S waits for a period of time before specified for the quiet timer processing
authentication requests from the user. The default value is 60s.

server-timeout

: specifies the value of the timeout timer of the authentication server. During

authentication, if the connection between the AR1200-S and the RADIUS server expires,
authentication fails. The default value is 30s.

5.4.7 (Optional) Setting the Maximum Number of Users for MAC
Address Authentication

When the number of access users on an interface reaches the maximum, the AR1200-S does not
trigger authentication for subsequent users; therefore, these users cannot access the network.

Context

The maximum number of users for MAC address authentication can be set in the interface view
or system view.
