
5.3 Configuring 802.1x Authentication
You can configure 802.1x authentication on an interface to authenticate access devices
connected to an interface of an access control device on a LAN.
5.3.1 Establishing the Configuration Task
Before configuring 802.1x authentication, familiarize yourself with the applicable environment,
complete the pre-configuration tasks, and obtain the data required for the configuration. This
will help you complete the configuration task quickly and accurately.
Applicable Environment
The 802.1x protocol is applied to the Ethernet as an access control mechanism on LAN interfaces
to authenticate access users and ensure security on the Ethernet.
