... have you been trained

The law  requires that personnel using this type of equipment in

the workplace must be competent and qualified to do so. Training

is available at HSS Training Solutions

0845 766 7799

Never push the equipment beyond its design limits. If it
will not do what you want with reasonable ease and speed,
assume you have the wrong equipment for the job. Contact
your local HSS Hire for advice.
Keep the equipment clean - you will find this less of a
chore if you clean it regularly, rather than wait until the end
of the hire period.
When not in use, store the equipment somewhere
clean, dry and safe from thieves.

EQUIPMENT CARE

FINISHING OFF

Remove unused cleaning fluids
from the housing with suction
hose.
Remove the floor nozzle, hold
suction hose in a fresh-water
tank, turn "Suction" switch to
“ON”
and wait until cleaning fluid is
removed and collected in dirty-
water tank.
Empty the dirty-water tank. Fill
fresh-water tank with 5l clean
water. Switch on spray switch.
Activate valve handle and rinse out unit for approx. 2
min. Switch off unit and pull the power plug.
Give the unit a final clean up ready for return, to your local
HSS Hire.

To connect to mains set  suction switch
and spray switch to "0". Insert power

plug.
An additional
plug-socket is
available for
connecting additional electrical
devices.

CLEANING

Set suction and spray switch to “I”. Activate valve handle.
The cleaning agent solution is sprayed
and simultaneously sucked in.

Drive on the
surface to be
cleaned in
o v e r l a p p i n g
paths. Repeat
as necessary.

To clean dirty carpets spray cleaning solution and use
suction immediately. Using suction again shortens the
drying time. When the carpet is very dirty, firstly spray
cleaning solution. Wait around 10 - 15 minutes and use
suction to remove cleaning solution.
To obtain better result rinse the cleaned surface with clear
water. Remains of the cleaning agent and loosened dirt are
then rinsed out.

EMPTYING DIRTY WATER TANK

When the dirty-water tank is full, the suction air is
interrupted by the mechanical floating switch.

Valve handle

The more sensitive the carpet, use a smaller amount
of cleaning agent.

Carpets with jute backings can shrink and the colours
can bleed if the treatment is too wet.

High pile carpets should be brushed off first.

Cleaning with warm water (up to max. 50°C) is more
effective.

Spray very dirty areas beforehand.

Work from light to dark areas (from window to doors).

Work from cleaner areas to dirty ones.

Wait until cleaned surface is dry before walking on it.
