Maximum Jobs
Maximum Concurrent Outbound
Copy Jobs
The maximum number of outbound copy jobs that can be processed
concurrently. Copy jobs are placed in a queue and processed as
soon as volume of jobs and any configured blackout windows or
bandwidth limiting allow. The backup application polls the StoreOnce
System to identify when copy jobs are complete. It is recommended
to limit the maximum number of concurrent outbound copy jobs to 1
per 512 kbps of available bandwidth.
Maximum Concurrent Data and
Inbound Copy Jobs
The maximum number of data and inbound copy jobs that can be
processed concurrently. Blackout windows and bandwidth limiting do
not apply to these jobs.
Proxy Server
(for Cloud Bank stores)
Host Address
The proxy server host address.
Port
The proxy server port number.
Username
An optional username for the proxy server.
Password
An optional password for the proxy server.
IMPORTANT:
If StoreOnce Catalyst operations pass through a firewall, the network administrator
must open (TCP) ports 9387 (Command protocol) and 9388 (Data protocol) to allow the StoreOnce
Catalyst traffic to pass to and from the StoreOnce Systems.
Adding a blackout windows
Blackout windows specify times when you do not want outbound copy jobs to occur. Blackout windows
override any attempts by backup application software to perform StoreOnce Catalyst Copies. Backup
application software will retry continually until a blackout window is over.
Blackout windows are available on most StoreOnce functions to ensure all StoreOnce services run
efficiently and do not compete for resources. For example, if running backup, restore, replication, and
StoreOnce Catalyst Store operations 24 hours a day, housekeeping cannot complete. Without
housekeeping, the system performance will suffer. Other examples include using blackout windows during
planned maintenance or heavy network traffic.
Prerequisites
Only an administrator can add blackout windows.
