Removing and replacing an LFF hot-plug drive
CAUTION:
To prevent improper cooling and thermal damage, do not operate the server unless all bays
are populated with either a component or a blank.
Procedure
1.
Back up all server data on the drive.
2.
If installed,
3. Determine the status of the drive from the drive LED definitions
4.
Remove the drive:
a.
Press the latch to open the release lever.
b.
Pull the release lever to disengage the drive from the backplane, and then slide the drive out of the bay.
To replace the component, reverse the removal procedure.
