2. Release the ZIF connector (2) to which the touchpad cable is connected, and then disconnect the power
cable from the touchpad.
3. Detach the touchpad cable (3) from the computer. (The touchpad cable is attached to the computer with
double-sided adhesive.)
4. Remove the touchpad cable.
Reverse this procedure to install the touchpad cable.

Before removing the touchpad, follow these steps:
1. Prepare the computer for disassembly (see Preparation for disassembly on page 31 ).
2. Remove the bottom cover (see Battery on page 33 ).
3. Remove the battery (see Battery on page 33 ).
4. Remove the touchpad cable (see Touchpad cable on page 56 ).
Remove the touchpad:
1. Remove the seven Phillips M2.0 × 2.9 screws (1) that secure the touchpad and touchpad bracket to the
computer.
