Edit the E-mail settings
E-mail noti fi cation is sent to the persons you include on the E-mail distribution list in the E-mail settings.
You specify the E-mail noti
fi cation alert severity and format settings for each person on the distribution list.
To create an E-mail distribution list for noti fi cation alerts, add an E-mail address to the list, or remove an
E-mail address from the list:
1. Log in to Command View VLS as the administrator. See Opening a Command View VLS session
from Command View TL .
2. Click the Noti fi cations tab.
The Noti fi cations window displays ( Figure 66 ).
3. Click Edit Email Settings in the task bar.
The Edit Email Settings window opens ( Figure 68 ).

4. To add an E-mail address:
a. Enter an E-mail address in the Email Address box.
b. Select the type of noti fi cation alerts to send in the Alerts box.
• All —Sends all noti fi cations
• Errors —Sends only errors
• Warnings —Sends only warnings
• None —Sends no noti fi cations
c. Select a noti fi cation alert format in the Format box.
• Short —Sends short mail messages
• Long —Sends detailed mail messages
• Long + Attachment —Sends detailed mail messages and relevant log fi les
• Con fi guration —Saves the VLS con fi guration and E-mails it at midnight after any
con fi guration change.
d. Click Add .
e. To add another E-mail address, repeat these steps.
5. To delete an E-mail address, click the Remove button for the E-mail address.
6. To test an E-mail address entry, click Test Email .
