Installing an HP Universal Hot-Plug Tape Drive
To install an HP universal hot-plug tape drive into the drive cage:
1.
Remove the drive blank from the next available hot-plug drive bay. Refer to
“Removing a Drive Blank” in this chapter.
2.
HP universal hot-plug tape drives require two drive bays for installation, so you
must remove two drive blanks. Repeat step 1 to remove a second drive blank.
3.
Align the HP universal hot-plug tape drive with the drive bays and slide the tape
drive into the drive bays until the release latch seats.

4.
Be sure that the tape drive LED on the front of the tape drive is illuminated
green, indicating that the system is functioning properly. For detailed information
on LEDs, refer to Appendix E, “System LEDs and Switches.”
5.
If any of the LEDs indicates an error, refer to Appendix H, “Troubleshooting,” or
refer to the
HP Servers Troubleshooting Guide
on the Documentation CD for
instructions.
