Installing the ProCurve Switch 8100fl 

Installation Procedures 

7. Verifying the Installation 

After you have installed all the appropriate components for your switch 
(power supplies, fan trays, and the various modules required for your 
installation), replace the power and slot covers over any empty power bays 
and module slots. Then power on the switch to verify that it is working 
properly by following the procedure described on 

page 2-30

. 

C a u t i o n    

For proper switch cooling and to reduce any electronic emissions, install the 
appropriate slot covers over any unused power bays and module slots. 

Failure to use the correct slot cover may result in improper switch cooling. 

Make sure that you use the correct type of cover for each empty slot. Each 
cover is labeled as follows to indicate the type of slot for which it is designed 
(part numbers shown in parentheses):
