Before removing the display hinges, follow these steps:

Shut down the computer.

Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer.

Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet and then
unplugging the AC adapter from the computer.

Remove the battery (see

), and then remove the following components:

Remove the six Phillips broadhead 2.4×3.2 screws (1) securing the hinges to the display assembly.
