This command should only be used to guard edge ports that are not expected to participate in STP
operations. Once BPDU protection is enabled, it will disable the port as soon as any BPDU packet is
received on that interface.
Viewing BPDU Protection Status
The
show spanning-tree
command has additional information on BPDU protection as shown below.

Using SNMP To View and Configure Switch Authentication Features
In earlier software releases, SNMP MIB object access has not been available for switch authentication
configuration (hpSwitchAuth) features. Beginning with software release L.10.20, the 4200 switches
allow, by default, manager-only SNMP read/write access to a subset of the authentication MIB objects
for the following features:
