212  Chapter 15 Scorotron

ENWW

Overview

The scorotron charges the PIP. There are three scorotron units that ensure a 
homogenous PIP charge. These units are identified by the letters L, M, and R 
(representing Left, Middle, and Right). All three units are interchangeable and maintained 
in the same way. The scorotron units are mounted into the scorotron bridge, which 
engages them to the PIP drum during printing. During PIP maintenance procedures, lift 
the bridge to access the PIP.

Scorotron maintenance procedures

Maintaining the scorotron

To remove the scorotron, open the front door, press the scorotron latch, and pull the 
scorotron out.

To replace the scorotron unit, push the scorotron in until it clicks into place. The system 
does not send any message to notify if the scorotron is not inserted completely, but it does 
send the following error message:

A periodic check of the corona - left, central, right, HVPS 

current failed

Try printing again, if happens again call HP.
