150 Chapter 11 Paper transport
ENWW
Overview
Adjust the substrate transport system to ensure smooth substrate feeding and ejection
and to ensure that the image always prints at the same location in relation to the top left
corner of the sheet. Adjust the transport system whenever you replace a substrate with a
different weight or size.
This chapter describes each of the paper transport subsystems and their required
adjustments. The systems are described in the order of the paper path, starting with the
paper stack and ending with the printed sheets stack.
Paper storage
Paper is an organic matter and highly sensitive to relative humidity changes. Allow your
stock to adjust to the ambient conditions before using it. Do not unwrap the paper stack
until it has reached room temperature. Maintain 40 to 60 percent relative humidity in both
the storage room and in the printing room.
