The

sautil

command syntax for updating Smart Array Controller firmware is:

where:

The controller device file. Determine the device file for the Smart Array
Controller by running the

ioscan -kfnd ciss

command as described in

“Determining the Smart Array series controller device file” (page 78)

<fw_image>

The file path for the firmware version you want to install on the Smart Array
Controller.

When you enter the

sautil <device_file> download_ctlr_fw <fw_image>

command,

the installed firmware version is listed with the firmware version contained in

<fw_image>

. You

can proceed with the download or cancel:
