3. Set the test parameter AWGN (I

) .

HP-IB Syntax

"CDMA:AWGN:STAT ON" !turns the Test Set’s AWGN generator on.

"CDMA:AWGN -74" !sets AWGN to -74 dBM/BW.

Manual Operation:

1. Position the cursor at the AWGN field.

2. Press the ON/OFF key.

3. Adjust the value if necessary.

AWGN (I

) determines the signal-to-noise ratio Î

. The Sector A Power field sets Î

To obtain a ratio of -1, set AWGN 1 dB higher in power than Sector A Power.

is defined as the power spectral density of a band-limited white noise source (simulating interference from

other cells) as measured at the mobile station’s antenna connector.
