Grounding
The blade server must be grounded to earth via the ground lug provided on the chassis to ensure safe
operation, to prevent damage from electrostatic discharge, and to assure compliance with electromagnetic
compatibility requirements. The location is shown in Figure 0-1, Rear Power Supply view.
CAUTION
The DB9 connector shown in Figure 0-2 marked “For Manufacturing Use Only”, was installed
for use during the manufacturing process. It cannot be used for anything else. If an RS232
-type plug is used in this receptacle, it could cause the power supply to reset, thereby losing
data being transmitted to the blades.
DO NOT USE THIS RECEPTACLE FOR ANY PURPOSE!
