Core Switch 2/64 V4.1 Installation Guide

Performing Diagnostic Tests

The diagnostic tests provided on the switch include tests of internal connections
and circuitry, and SFPs and fiber optic cables in use. The tests are implemented by
command, either through a telnet session or through a terminal set up for a serial
connection to the switch. Some tests require the ports to be connected to each
other by external cables, to allow diagnostics to verify the serializer/deserializer
interface and to test the attached SFP and cable.

All diagnostic tests are run at link speeds of 1 Gbps and 2 Gbps.

Note:

Diagnostic tests may temporarily lock the transmit and receive speed of the links

to a specific speed.
