The router LSAs from the stub router may contain different link type values. A value of 3 means a link
to the stub network, so the cost of the link remains unchanged. A value of 1, 2 or 4 means a
point-to-point link, a link to a transit network or a virtual link; in such cases, a maximum cost value of
65535 is used. If other neighbors find the links to the stub router have such big costs, they will not
send packets to the stub router as long as a route with a smaller cost exists.

2: System level
Parameters
interval
: Interval at which an interface sends LSU packets, in milliseconds. Its value is in the range of
10 to 1000. If the router has a number of OSPF interfaces, Hewlett Packard Enterprise recommends
increasing this interval to reduce the total numbers of LSU packets sent by the router every second.
count
: Maximum number of LSU packets sent by an interface at each interval. It is in the range of 1 to
200. If the router has a number of OSPF interfaces, Hewlett Packard Enterprise recommends
decreasing this interval to reduce the total numbers of LSU packets sent by the router every second.
Description
Use
transmit-pacing
to configure the maximum number of LSU packets that can be sent every the
specified interval.
Use
undo transmit-pacing
to restore the default.
By default, an OSPF interface sends up to three LSU packets every 20 milliseconds.
Examples
# Configure all the interfaces under OSPF process 1 to send up to 10 LSU packets every 30
milliseconds.
