5.2.3

LOADING  THE  CASSETTE

 To load the primed cassette into the Plum XL,

proceed as follows:

Open the cassette door by lifting
the door handle.

Holding the primed cassette by its
fingergrip, slide it into the
cassette door guides until it firmly
seats in the door. Close the
cassette door.

Confirm that there is no flow.

5.2.4

PREPARING THE SECONDARY LINE

 The Plum XL features a secondary or piggyback

delivery mode when patient infusion therapy
requires administering more than one drug
through a single patient line.

In addition to standard containers, the Plum XL
uses syringes or vials on the secondary port for
piggyback or secondary delivery. The secondary
line can be prepared without removing or
repriming the cassette.

CAUT ON: Consult the drug containe

labeling to confirm drug com patibility

concentration  delivery  rates  and  volumes  are

all suitable for intermittent or continuou

secondary  or piggyback delivery mode.
