13.2 Clean the machine
Ø
Clean the machine thoroughly at regular intervals and after the end of the sea-
son.
Ø
Wear the necessary protective outfit when performing any work to protect
your health and safety.
Ø
Clean the outside of the machine with water. Open the fall sluice under the
metering unit so that entered water can flow off.
Ø
Clean the volume metering unit, distributor and hoses of the pneumatic sys-
tem, leave the fall sluice open for drying.
Ø
Clean the rotors inside the metering unit with a brush and compressed air.
Ø
Blow out coulters, seed lines, seed hopper, metering unit and fan with com-
pressed air.
Ø
Flush the components thoroughly after using solid fertiliser. Fertiliser is very
aggressive and causes corrosion.
NOTE
Ø
Do not clean electrical components, hydraulic cylinders and bearings with a
high pressure cleaner or direct water jet.
Housings, screw fittings and bearings are not waterproof under high pressure.
Ø
Clean every day when in use.
