Checking the Settings
Check the settings on the metering unit before
filling the machine with seed.
•
Before filling the tanks check them for
foreign objects and moisture.
•
The seed must be dry and free of
excessive dust and foreign objects.
•
The seed should not be mixed and
should be uniform in shape and size.
•
Talc or graphite powder (approx. 2 lbs.
per 50 units of seed) may be added to
seed with sticky coatings. Add in layers
as the tank is filled.
1. Fill one row unit with seed.
2. Place a container under the seed tube
3. Switch on the E-Manager and run the
vacuum fan
4. Adjust the vacuum as specified in the
table.
5. Start the test program in the E-Manager
(see E-Manager Manual)
The test results and thus the seed quality
depend on:
•
Metering Disk
•
Setting of outside scraper
•
Position of feed gate
•
Quality of seed (uniform shape and grain
size, coating, moisture, etc.)
• Vacuum setting
• Humidity
• Rotary speed of the metering disk (seed
quantity and working speed)
• Position of row unit
Depending on the result and the evaluation of
the test program, change the setting and repeat
the test until the best setting has been reached.
After the test check the seed
for damage.
In Case of damaged grains install the next
“smaller” metering disk and repeat the test until
the best setting has been found.
After the test run, transfer the
setting to all row units and
adjust.
